Professional Services
Taking initial instructions from the client (also confirming if the client had a funeral plan or had left any funeral wishes) Provide client with guidance and information to register the death In the event of a sudden death providing advice for the procedures that have to be followed when dealing with the Procurator Fiscal Initial meeting with client in home or office Explain all our funeral options and which type of coffin goes with each option Discuss the type of service, whether religious or non religious Make initial contact with Officiant, check availability of Crematorium/Cemetery & book times with further consultation with client Provide advice on hotels/room capacity/menus, and obtain costs if asked, and confirm booking as required Completion of all statutory paperwork with client (Cremation Forms, Burial Forms/Transfer etc.) Drafting and placement of death intimation in whateverpaper(s) requested Further liaison with client and officiant (by e-mail/phone/in person) to discuss the service sheet layout/content/photographs etc., and agreeing final draft and numbers required Discuss treatment with client and what this involves Discuss dressing whether in own clothing or robe Arrange suitable viewing times so that where possible the lead funeral director is available Discuss musical requirements, confirm if organist required and ascertain that all music is available, order music from the Crematorium Media System. If client wishes their own CD to be played then the CD is taken to the Crematorium by the FD for checking prior to the service If required the Funeral Director will arrange for the service to be recorded and the ordering of any screen photos/tributes Assist with powerpoint presentations in our premises If a collection is requested, prepare signage/provide coded security bag and discuss the safe delivery/handover after the service The Funeral Director will advise and if requested order flowers on behalf of the family The Funeral Director will arrange for the flowers to be returned where directed by the client within Dundee & District Discuss the transport requirements and coordinate the cortege and confirm the officiant's transport Officiating on the day of the funeral, ensuring that all necessary staff are fully briefed If the ashes are not to be dispersed at the Crematorium, then the ashes will be collected and returned to our premises, stored as required or prepared for dispersal or interment Discussion and placement of Acknowledgement if desired Memorials – advice/availability/ordering Collation of disbursement accounts, checking same, and settlement on Clients behalf

The Funeral Market Investigation Order 2021 requires funeral directors to display specific information about their business, to allow customers to choose a funeral director based on criteria that may influence their choice.
To comply with the terms of the order you need to display "Terms of Business" on your website, or if you do not have a website, on any other online channels or platforms where you market your business by 16th September 2021.

If payment has failed to meet the deadline agreed then interest may be charged at 4% over our banks base rate, calculated on a daily basis from date of account until payment, compounded on the first day of each month and before and after any judgement.
Expense of legal action to recover overdue debt may also be charged.
It should be noted that we do not expect deposits but will accept one if offered as this can help cover costs we pay out to third parties on behalf of the client.
