Funeral Options & Costs

Direct Cremations have become more available in recent times, and are suitable where there is no desire for a formal service, or where cost is a contributing factor. A Direct Cremation would normally include the following: - Making all necessary arrangements for a Cremation, and providing professional advice. - Our staff will bring your loved one into our care (within a distance of 25 miles) from hospital (during office hours), nursing/care home or private residence, and held within a temperature controlled environment within our funeral home. - Provision of a simple coffin - Conveyance to Dundee Crematorium in a specialist funeral vehicle - Providing appropriate staff - Payment of Cremation Fees What does direct unattended cremation mean?: - No Service will be held at a direct unattended cremation - No family members or friends can attend as this is a strictly private cremation - The time of the cremations are set by the crematorium Our Current cost for providing a Direct Cremation at Dundee Crematorium, including Cremation Fees is £1190. There are other low cost options available which we are happy to discuss.

As with Direct Cremation, a Direct Burial does not permit any family members or friends to attend, there is no service prior to the interment. We attend to all necessary arrangements, provide a simple coffin and attend to all transfers (as with Direct Cremation). The cost of a Direct Burial (within a 10 mile radius of any of our offices) is currently £691 (plus burial costs). Burial costs can vary, we would have to ascertain if the family already had their own lair(s) or if a new lair had to be purchased, and in which Cemetery. Unfortunately not all Cemeteries have new lairs available.

If a family can be flexible on some aspects of our services including the day and time of the funeral then we can offer this arrangement. - Making all necessary arrangements and professional advice for a funeral service with mourners present. - Our staff will bring your loved one into our care (within a distance of 25 miles) from hospital (during office hours), nursing/care home or private residence, and held within a temperature controlled environment within our funeral home. - Provision of a simple coffin and conveyance by hearse to a local cemetery or crematorium - Providing appropriate staff - Viewing by prior appointment during normal office hours - Provide a Funeral Director and personnel to conduct the funeral - Access to professional grief care and bereavement support if needed at no cost to you. - Payment of necessary disbursements (for example - burial or cremation fees, celebrant fees) Our Current cost for providing this service is £1495 (plus disbursements)

This personalised option provides a first class service and allows you to organise a funeral which is tailored to your needs and gives your loved one the farewell they deserve. This arrangement offers complete flexibility, choice of day and time, special music, orders of service, choice of route and many of the other touches that mean so much. Initial discussion and taking of all instructions, arranging and coordinating all third parties (clergy or celebrant, crematorium or cemetery, florist, newspapers, reception venue, printers, live streaming, photo tributes etc.) and the collection an ingathering of all documentation required. - Advice on legal and social matters pertaining to the funeral - Care of your loved one in modern temperature controlled premises - Preparation, embalming (if necessary), and dressing in accordance with the family instructions. - Selection of coffin from our extension range, from traditional wood coffins to eco coffins in bamboo, willow, wicker, banana leaf, pandanus grass, to coloured and customised - Full use of our rest rooms and lounges at the office of your choice, within normal working hours. - The provision of a modern Jaguar hearse as required. - The provision of modern Jaguar limousines if required. (all our limousines have been fitted with factory supplied Covid 19 protection screens) - Access to professional grief care and bereavement support if needed at no cost to you.​ The cost of this service will vary depending on your service selections. A Green burial is an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional burials. It usually takes place in a natural or woodland burial ground, or in a designated area within a conventional cemetery. A biodegradable coffin would normally be used, made from natural or sustainable materials such as wicker, willow, banana leaf, pandanus grass, cardboard or similar. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
