Price List

It is a requirement of the Competition and Marketing Authority (CMA) for Funeral Directors to provide what they term is a Standardised Price List. This Standardised Price List is NOT based on a detailed specification for each item, therefore prices from different Funeral Directors will vary. We have based our costs for the Standardised Price List on our Budget Funeral. 


Standardised Price List

All funeral directors are legally required to publish this Price List for a standardised set of products and services. This is to help you think through your options and make choices, and to let you compare prices between different funeral directors (because prices can vary).

Attended Funeral (funeral director's charges only)

This is a funeral where family and friends have a ceremony, event or service for the deceased person at the same time as they attend their burial or cremation.

Taking care of all necessary legal and administrative arrangements.

Collecting and transporting the deceased person from the place of death (normally within 15 miles of the funeral director's premises) into the funeral director's care.

Care of the deceased person before the funeral in appropriate facilities. The deceased person will be cared for at the funeral director's branch and premises.

Fees You Must Pay

For an Attended or Unattended burial funeral, the burial fee*.

*This fee (which is sometimes called the interment fee) is the charge made for digging and closing a new grave, or for reopening and closing an existing grave.

For a new grave, you will also need to pay for the plot; for an existing grave with a memorial in place, you may need to pay a removal/replacement fee. In addition, the cemetery may charge a number of other fees.

Additional Funeral Director Products and Services

The funeral director can give you a full list of what they can supply. They are likely to charge for these additional products and services, so you may choose to take care of some arrangements without their involvement, or you can use a different supplier.


*You may notice on the Competition & Marketing Authority's (CMA) Standardised Price List that we have shown a charge of £1 for visits to the chapel of rest within office hours and collection and delivery of ashes (locally). It has never been our practice to charge any fee for this but the CMA insists that a charge is shown for every item hence the minimal fee. This fee will not be charged on our final invoice.

The Funeral Market Investigation Order 2021 requires funeral directors to display specific information about their business, to allow customers to choose a funeral director based on criteria that may influence their choice.

To comply with the terms of the order you need to display "Terms of Business" on your website, or if you do not have a website, on any other online channels or platforms where you market your business by 16th September 2021.

If payment has failed to meet the deadline agreed then interest may be charged at 4% over our banks base rate, calculated on a daily basis from date of account until payment, compounded on the first day of each month and before and after any judgement.

Expense of legal action to recover overdue debt may also be charged.

It should be noted that we do not expect deposits but will accept one if offered as this can help cover costs we pay out to third parties on behalf of the client.
